[ He starts to ask about the name, then stops as it triggers something. And Tony's eyes go wide as a few things slot together in his head, but he just takes the glass without a word and heads on over to the couch. That explains the power dampener request, then.

Which definitely means it's time for a subject change. ]

So what are we drinking to?

[He might have been silent, but the mental cogs turning that leaked into his body language screamed recognition and pieces falling into place. It tickles something at the back of her mind, something she and Remy had spoken about a while ago, but his question interrupts that goose chase.]

Me tryin' to rejoin society and be less of a sad sack, ah suppose. Movin' forward and catchin' up on what's been happenin'.

[She doesn't want to say anything sappy about loss and love, so she simply pours them glasses and takes a longer drink to that.]

C'mon, let's sit. What's new with you?

[ He drops down onto the couch, mostly to give himself time to figure out how to answer that.

What he finally ends up with is ] Something similar. [ Not that he's exactly trying, as much, but he is here. So that has to count for something, right? ]

Keeping busy. You know how it goes.

[Frowning in concern as she watches him, she steps over to perch herself comfortably enough, legs folding under her rear for the time being.]

You tend to keep busy when somethin' happens. What are you processin' sugah?

[Somehow it's comforting that she's not the only one with her struggles, which has her feeling a bit guilty for almost wishing for something else to focus on rather than her own misfortunes.]

[ Tony's eyebrows lift a little before something wry twists at his mouth. He's still not used to people knowing him like that, especially when he can't entirely return the favor.

But he's quiet for a moment as he tries to work out what to say, taking a sip of his drink to cover the pause. ]

You know, sometimes, you get these things here. Canisters. Of your memories from home.

[Most genius sorts tend to do better tinkering on things, and she herself enjoys working on motorcycles and similar vehicles. She might not be on Tony's level, but she understands the need for distraction.

Sipping her drink herself, she gives him time, but listens keenly when he speaks, brow furrowing.]

No ah... Ah've not heard of this yet. Ah take it you didn't get good news, then?
