Mr. Stark, this may be reaching a bit but since this is twice in so many days I've been asked a similar question, I'm taking the shot.

You know anything about Prometheus Labs and Alexander Pierce?

Prometheus no, Pierce yes. Why do you ask?

Well, you both had an interest in what I wanted to learn about. My interests. And when I first got here, he offered me use of his lab.

He does like being friendly. I won't tell you not to take what he offers, but keep both eyes on him at all times.

I was getting that impression already.

Look, you have to level with me on him. He told me some country in his land could manipulate the human brain. Make them believe and think whatever this country wanted.

Jesus. Yeah, I'm sure he did. I'm sure he also didn't mention he was in on it.

They tried it. I'm not sure it would have worked on anyone but the person they tried it with, and even he eventually started overcoming the programming.

He didn't have to. I can read between the lines. I just needed the confirmation without him seeing red flags.

By himself? Really? So either Pierce is trying again or he's wanting to do something similar. Of course it's my word against his on what we discussed.

The whole thing is significantly more complicated than I'm making it out to be. And I wouldn't worry about your word, there are a fair few of us around trying to keep our eyes on Pierce. I don't like that he's apparently trying this shit but I'm not surprised.

I'm pretty confident he won't be able to find someone with my skill set with looser morals.

That is...relieving? I guess? Good to know what he's up to, though.

I really have no interest in keeping an eye on him in that close a capacity, but if he approaches me again, I'll let you know.

I don't suppose he mentioned why he was experimenting with mind control?

Fed me some line about the greater good and wanting to eliminate addiction and mental illness.

Oh, the greater good routine. Should have seen that one coming.

Not really a pitch that would work on me, obviously.

Because you can see through it or because you don't care? Either works, frankly.

It's a pretty subjective term. I'm not interested in what he thinks is the "greater good". I'll do what I can to make sure he can't mess with people's minds.

Makes sense. Just watch your back. He's more slippery than he seems.

Should I be worrying about my family?

No. I doubt he'd go that far, especially when he's still playing the kindly old guy. He just has a way of getting into your head in ways that don't involve mind control.
